Notice of Special Meeting

The Village of Newton Falls City Council has scheduled a Special Meeting to be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Newton Falls Municipal Center located at 612 West Broad St., Newton Falls, Ohio 44444. In accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G) purpose of this meeting is to consider pending or imminent court action and other matters required to be kept confidential

Job Opening

The Village of Newton Falls is accepting applications for a part-time zoning inspector. This position is responsible for enforcing local zoning codes, reviewing permit applications, and conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Minimum Qualifications: (1) High school diploma or equivalent; (2) Basic knowledge of zoning regulations, land use, or building codes; (3) Ability to read and interpret maps, site plans, and legal descriptions; (4) Strong communication and record-keeping skills; and (5) Valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications: (1) Prior experience in zoning enforcement, code enforcement, planning, or a related field and (2) Familiarity with Ohio zoning laws and municipal processes. Compensation commensurate with experience. An application can be obtained from and returned to the City Manager’s office located at 612 West Broad Street Newton Falls Ohio 44444. The office is open Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm. Applications will be accepted until May 8, 2026. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Job Opening

The Village of Newton Falls is seeking a dependable individual to serve as a Part-Time Custodian. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general upkeep of facilities, including routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and ensuring a safe environment for staff and the public. Minimum Qualifications: (1) High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required); (2) Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods; (3) Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment; (4) Ability to follow instructions and work independently; and (5) Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications: (1) Prior custodial or maintenance experience; (2) Familiarity with basic building maintenance tasks. Compensation commensurate with experience. Council Meeting Schedule

Newton Falls City Council Regular Meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Center.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Village Council of Newton Falls is accepting applications for the vacant Ward 3 seat. The appointed applicant will serve until a general election can be held for the office. Applicants should email a letter of interest and/or resume to the Clerk of Council at cityclerk@newtonfallsoh.gov. Qualifications for Council are contained in Article III, Section 2 of the Charter for the City of Newton Falls.

Those qualifications are:

  • Must have been a resident of Ward 3 of the City of Newton Falls for at least one year preceding the appointment.

Must continue to reside in Ward 3 of the City of Newton Falls and be a qualified elector thereof throughout the entire term of office.

Must not be directly or indirectly interested in the profits or emoluments of any contract, work, or service with or for the City.

Applications will be accepted until 3:00 pm on January 4, 2025.
