Christmas Eve is a Thursday and will be a normal trash pickup day. However, our trash hauling contract with Ohio Valley prohibits them from picking up residential trash prior to 6 AM.
I have granted them a one-time waiver so that residential garbage pickup can begin even earlier tomorrow on Christmas Eve.
This allows these hard-working refuse collection agents to get back to their families as early as possible on December 24, 2020. Plus a few of them need to rush to the North Pole as part-time Elves for Santa. This means that the trash man comes early tomorrow: really early in the morning. I suggest that you place your trash cans out near the curb tonight sometime instead of waiting until morning as many of you do.
Thank you for your cooperation and Merry Christmas! Dave Lynch
In the last several days, we have had a rash of symptomatic employees, warnings of potential positives, and worse, positive Covid tests. Further details cannot be released. In addition, the Coronavirus is rapidly marching across the state with little to impede it.
