This morning we received an email from the Trumbull County Department of Health indicating that we did not previously receive a message that they are circulating this morning indicating that the 10-person limit for City Council meetings has been lifted by the Ohio Department of Health.
The Trumbull County Department of Health sent us this information only today because they only recently received the information themselves as the information originally went to the Summit County Department of Health on the date of October 20, 2020 and then was recently forwarded to the Trumbull County Department of Health within the last couple of days. Our Council meeting of November 2, 2020 will therefore be conducted under the normal protocol for meetings that are open to the public. Members of the public will have to maintain social distancing and will be required to wear masks during the meeting even during periods of time while members of the public are at the podium to speak to Council. In addition to that, a temperature check will take place upon entry for all persons and those with an at-risk temperature will not be permitted to attend. Note that the State legislature has passed a law which remains in effect through December 1, 2020 that authorizes each municipality to conduct their meetings through Zoom or some other virtual method if that locality chooses to do so out of a sense of caution.
