PUBLIC NOTICE

The Village of Newton Falls Community Services and Activities Ad-Hoc Committee will hold a TOWN HALL MEETING on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Newton Falls Municipal Center located at 612 West Broad St., Newton Falls, Ohio 44444. The purpose of the meeting is to hear and discuss ideas for a community event to be held on April 8, 2024 for the total solar eclipse, as well as, the upcoming Egg Hunt. All are invited to attend. Community involvement, participation, and input are welcomed.

On 12/06/2023, the Village Council of Newton Falls authorized the establishment of a Community Services and Activities Committee that shall be tasked with soliciting ideas, evaluating options, and providing recommendations for how to best provide, fund, and sustain desired community and senior services and activities through volunteers and without the use of taxpayer funds. This Committee shall be comprised of 2 members of Council selected by Council and 5 residents selected by Council. In selecting the residents to serve on this Committee, Council shall consider the resident’s knowledge and experience in the areas of charitable or senior services and activities, fundraising, and food service, and the resident’s enthusiasm for this task.

The Clerk of Council is accepting letters of interest and resumes, including qualifications, from residents interested in serving on this committee. Applications will be accepted until all seats are filled.

• Civil Service Commission – unexpired term ending 12/31/2024

• Civil Service Commission – term beginning 01/01/2024; term ending 12/31/2029
