Michael Novotny has worked for the City of Newton Falls for 22 years starting as an apprentice in the Wastewater Plant in 1998. Mike became Wastewater Superintendent in December 2011. Currently Mike holds a Class III Ohio EPA Wastewater Treatment License and a Class A BUSTR UST Operator Certificate.
In addition to his employment with the City of Newton Falls, Mike is the Asst. Fire Chief for the NF Joint Fire District. He has been on the department since March of 1992 and his Certifications include - FF 1, EMT-I, & FSI.
Wastewater Division
The Newton Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant uses an activated sludge treatment process with final clarifiers. It also uses an ultraviolet disinfectant system.
The Treatment plant has a daily average usage of 1 million gallons per day. The plant is operating at approximately 50% of its daily capacity.
