A ORDINANCE AMENDING NEWTON FALLS CODIFIED ORDINANCES SECTION 991 MUNICIPAL PARKS.
WHEREAS, Over the past several years increased vandalism and loitering has been noticed at the Newton Falls City Park; and
WHEREAS, Newton Falls City Council has taken steps to try and resolve issues at the park; and
WHEREAS, The City of Newton Falls Codified Ordinance 509.08, Minor’s curfew; exception for special functions outlines the curfew for anyone under the age of eighteen, said curfew is as follows; Sunday through Thursday the curfew is 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and Friday and Saturday the curfew is 11:59 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, After careful consideration the Newton Falls City Council feels it is in the best interest of the City to amend the Park curfew to an earlier time in order to allow park participants an opportunity to make it home before the curfew.
COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF NEWTON FALLS, STATE OF OHIO, HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I: Newton Falls City Council feels it is in the best interest of the City to amend Municipal Parks, Section 991.03 Curfew to read:
No person nor vehicle shall be permitted to remain in the parks between sunset and sunrise as determined by the United States Naval Observatory, except by special permission of the Park and Recreation Board. (Ord. 2002-41. Passed 1-6-03.)
SECTION II: Any ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict with the contents of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
