Tornado Warning Procedures

Every Saturday at Noon, weather permitting, the City of Newton Falls will test tornado sirens.

When a tornado warning is issued for Southwestern Trumbull County or Eastern Portage County the sirens will be activated and the following announcement will be made over the PA system:

“A tornado warning has been issued possibly affecting Newton Falls, please seek shelter”.

If a Tornado Warning is issued and Newton Falls is directly in the path or there is a valid visual sighting, the siren will be activated every five minutes until the threat is terminated.

Citizens should take the appropriate shelter and monitor TV, radio stations, and or weather station monitors.
